How long does Nectus 2G Rodenticide take to work?

Q How long does Nectus 2G Rodenticide take to work? answer now
    Asked on December 18, 2025 12:47 PM
A Nectus 2G Rodenticide begins working after rodents consume a lethal amount of bait, with activity reduction typically noticeable within 2–4 days. Most users see a decline in rodent sightings and feeding activity within 3–7 days, while complete control of active rodent populations generally occurs within 5–10 days, depending on consumption levels and proper bait placement. Nectus 2G uses a delayed-action anticoagulant, which allows rodents to continue feeding normally without immediately associating the bait with illness. This delay helps prevent bait shyness and increases the likelihood that multiple rodents consume a lethal dose. Affected rodents usually retreat to hidden areas, so visible carcasses are uncommon. Success is measured by reduced feeding, droppings, and rodent activity, not by finding dead rodents. For best results, place Nectus 2G in secured bait stations along active runways, burrows, and feeding areas, and maintain consistent bait availability until activity stops.

Q We have rats. How many Nectus 2G bait bags do we use? answer now

    A

For control of rats, place 10 to 42 bait bags per bait station.  The number of bait stations you need to use will depend on the size of your area, but "rule of thumb" is to place bait stations every 10 to 30 feet apart and make sure the bait stations stay full without interruption.

Description

Product Alternatives: Contrac All-Weather Blox
EPA Registration No.: 82744-2-56
Active Ingredient: Bromadiolone – .0.005%
General Instructions:

Bait stations are mandatory for outdoor, above-ground use. Tamper-resistant bait stations must be used wherever children, pets, non-target mammals, or birds may have access to the bait placement location.

SELECTION OF TREATMENT AREAS:

Determine areas where rats and mice will most likely find and consume the bait. Generally, these areas are along walls, by gnawed openings, in corners and concealed places, between floors and walls, or in locations where rats or mice, or their signs have been seen. Protect bait from rain and snow. Remove as much alternative food as possible.

Directions For Use:

Rats:

Place 10 to 42 bait bags (at intervals of 15 to 30 feet) per placement in infested areas. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of rat activity cease.

Mice:

Place 1 bait bag per placement. Space placements at 8- to 12-foot intervals in infested areas. Two blocks may be needed at points of very high activity. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 15 days or until signs of mouse activity cease.

FOLLOW-UP:

Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Wearing gloves, collect and dispose of all dead, exposed animals and leftover bait. To prevent reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water, and harborage as much as possible. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment. Where a continuous source of infestation is present, establish permanent bait stations and replenish as needed.

Note To Veternarian:

For animals ingesting bait and/or showing poisoning signs, give Vitamin K1.  If needed, check prothrombin times every 3 days until values return to normal (up to 30 days). In severe cases, blood transfusions may be needed.
