Most users see a reduction in new soil mounds within 3–7 days, while complete control of active gophers usually occurs within 5–10 days, depending on feeding behavior and correct bait placement. Kaput-D uses an anticoagulant active ingredient, which produces delayed effects to prevent bait shyness. This allows gophers to continue feeding naturally without associating the bait with illness, increasing the likelihood of lethal consumption. Affected gophers typically remain underground, so visible carcasses are uncommon. Instead, success is measured by declining mound activity.     NO, Kaput D Gopher Bait is for BELOW GROUND applications only. You will need to probe down to find active runways and then place Kaput D Gopher Bait into the tunnels and then cover the treated tunnel with excess soil, but make sure you do not to place soil directly on top of the bait, covering it up.

    A Place Kaput D in the pocket gophers burrows at a rate of one-half cup per runway.  An upside down T is what you are looking for, so one-half cup in the right tunnel and one-half cup in the left tunnel.

    I can’t really tell if its killing my ground squirrels in my hillside behind my house, I can see the product is getting eaten. I have only seen 1 dead and it was quite aways from where I put this product at. I do know its working for mice which isn’t what I bought it for but I take it. 🙂
