How Temprid FX Works
What makes Temprid FX different from many conventional insecticides is its dual-active technology.
Imidacloprid
Imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid insecticide that acts on the insect’s nervous system. It provides a different mode of action from traditional pyrethroid insecticides.
Beta-Cyfluthrin
Beta-cyfluthrin is a pyrethroid insecticide that provides fast contact activity by disrupting normal nervous-system function.
Temprid FX uses a co-milled formulation, meaning the two active ingredients are milled together into uniform particles rather than simply combining two separate insecticides. This helps provide consistent distribution of both active ingredients across treated surfaces.
The result is a powerful one-two punch that exposes pests to two different modes of action.
Temprid FX for Bed Bugs
Temprid FX is particularly well known for professional bed bug control.
Its two active ingredients attack bed bugs through different modes of action, making Temprid FX effective against pyrethroid-resistant bed bug populations as well as susceptible strains.
Temprid FX also kills bed bug eggs and can be incorporated into comprehensive bed bug programs that include inspection, monitoring, vacuuming, heat treatments and other appropriate control measures.
The label permits applications to appropriate cracks, crevices and bed bug harborages. For mattresses, follow the specific label directions regarding permitted treatment areas.
Temprid FX for Ants
Temprid FX is also an excellent professional insecticide for controlling ants.
Treat areas where ants forage, trail, enter structures or establish nests. Depending on the species and application site, treatments may include cracks and crevices, structural entry points and exterior areas permitted by the label.
For best results, combine Temprid FX treatments with sanitation, exclusion and appropriate ant baiting when necessary.
Temprid FX for Cockroaches
For cockroach control, concentrate applications around areas where roaches hide and travel, including permitted:
- Cracks and crevices
- Plumbing penetrations
- Behind and underneath appliances
- Cabinet voids
- Structural openings
- Other cockroach harborages
For German cockroach infestations, Temprid FX can be incorporated into an Integrated Pest Management program that also uses gel baits, monitoring traps and an insect growth regulator when appropriate.
Temprid FX for Spiders & Scorpions
Temprid FX is an excellent option for difficult crawling pests such as spiders and scorpions.
Applications can be directed to pest harborages, structural entry points and other labeled areas where spiders or scorpions are likely to hide or travel.
Reducing other insects around the structure can also help reduce the food sources that attract spiders and scorpions.
