Q How is Premise 2 different from Termidor or Taurus? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:13 AM
A Premise 2 uses imidacloprid, while Termidor and Taurus use fipronil. Premise 2 acts systemically and is absorbed through contact and feeding, while fipronil products rely more heavily on direct transfer. Premise is often preferred for soil absorption and long-term prevention, while fipronil products are known for aggressive colony collapse.

Q Why am I still seeing termites after using Premise 2? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:11 AM

Q How long does Premise 2 last after application? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:10 AM
A When applied correctly, Premise 2 can provide months of residual protection. In soil treatments for termites, it can remain active for several years, helping prevent reinfestation when the treated barrier remains undisturbed.
  16. Is Premise 2 a repellent or non-repellent insecticide?
  17. 0 votes
Q Is Premise 2 a repellent or non-repellent insecticide? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:09 AM
A Premise 2 is a non-repellent insecticide, meaning pests cannot detect it. This allows termites and ants to move freely through treated soil or surfaces and unknowingly spread the active ingredient throughout the colony, resulting in more complete elimination.
  18. What pests does Premise 2 control besides termites?

Q What pests does Premise 2 control besides termites? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:08 AM
A Premise 2 is highly effective against subterranean termites, but it is also labeled for controlling ants, carpenter ants, fleas, ticks, and other soil-dwelling and perimeter pests. Its versatility makes it a popular choice for both structural termite treatments and general pest control around foundations.
  20. How long does Premise 2 Insecticide take to work?
  21. 0 votes
Q How long does Premise 2 Insecticide take to work? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:05 AM
A Premise 2 Insecticide begins working within hours after termites or other target pests contact treated soil or surfaces. Most users notice a reduction in visible termite or ant activity within 24–72 hours, while full colony impact typically occurs within 3–7 days. Because Premise 2 contains imidacloprid, a non-repellent, systemic insecticide, termites and ants do not detect the treatment and continue moving through treated areas. This allows them to transfer the active ingredient throughout the colony, leading to colony-wide elimination rather than just surface-level control. When applied as a soil treatment, Premise 2 also provides long-lasting residual protection for months.
  22. Is this safe to use around pets?
  23. 0 votes
Q Is this safe to use around pets? answer now
    Asked on February 21, 2023 8:55 AM
A Do not allow people or pets to be in contact with the treated surface or area until the Premise 2 Insecticide residue is completely dry.

Premise® 2 Insecticide is a professional-grade, non-repellent termiticide and insecticide designed to eliminate termites and other destructive pests at the source. Trusted by pest control professionals and experienced DIYers alike, Premise 2 delivers long-lasting soil and structural protection by stopping infestations before they cause costly damage.

If you’re looking for serious termite control without repellency, Premise 2 is one of the most proven solutions available.

Why Premise® 2 Works When Other Insecticides Fail

Unlike repellent sprays that pests avoid, Premise 2 uses imidacloprid, a non-repellent active ingredient that termites and ants cannot detect. This allows insects to move freely through treated areas, pick up the active ingredient, and spread it throughout the colony.

The result is colony-level elimination, not just surface kill.

Product Features:

  • Non-repellent technology (no avoidance)
  • Excellent soil penetration
  • Long-lasting residual protection
  • Effective for both active infestations and prevention
  • Ideal for perimeter, trenching, and wall void treatments

Size:

  • 240 mL (8 oz.)

Active Ingredient: Imidacloprid – 21.4%
Premise 2 Is A Non-Repellant Termiticide/Insecticide: Undetectable To Termites And Other Pests
What Pests Does Premise® 2 Control?

Premise 2 is labeled for a wide range of structural and perimeter pests, including:

  • Subterranean termites

  • Carpenter ants

  • Ants (various species)

  • Fleas

  • Ticks

  • Other soil-dwelling and perimeter insects

This versatility makes Premise 2 an excellent choice for whole-structure protection, not just termite-only treatments.

How Long Does Premise® 2 Take to Work?

Premise 2 begins working within hours after pests contact treated soil or surfaces. Most users notice a reduction in visible termite or ant activity within 24–72 hours, with broader colony impact developing over 3–7 days.

Because Premise 2 works through delayed transfer, termites continue interacting with nestmates before dying—allowing the product to spread deeper into the colony. This process is critical for complete elimination, especially in hidden infestations.

How Long Does Premise® 2 Last?

When applied correctly:

  • Soil treatments can remain effective for months to years

  • Preventative barriers continue protecting structures as long as the treated zone remains undisturbed

  • Residual activity greatly reduces the risk of reinfestation

This long lifespan is why Premise 2 is commonly used in pre-construction and post-construction termite protection.

Premise® 2 vs Termidor® vs Taurus® – What’s the Difference?

Premise 2 differs from fipronil-based termiticides like Termidor and Taurus in how it moves through the environment:

  • Premise 2 (imidacloprid)

    • Systemic soil activity

    • Excellent absorption into treated zones

    • Ideal for prevention and perimeter defense

  • Termidor / Taurus (fipronil)

    • Strong transfer effect through contact

    • Aggressive colony collapse

    • Often preferred for active infestations

Many professionals choose Premise 2 for long-term prevention and Termidor-style products for heavy, active termite pressure. Both are non-repellent and highly effective when used correctly.

Where Can Premise® 2 Be Applied?

Premise 2 is commonly used for:

  • Foundation trenching and soil treatments

  • Exterior perimeter treatments

  • Wall void applications (label-permitted)

  • Pre-construction termite barriers

  • Structural protection around homes and buildings

Always follow label directions for placement and application methods.

Is Premise® 2 Safe to Use Around Homes?

When applied according to the label, Premise 2 is safe for residential use. It is designed to be applied to soil and structural areas, not broadcast indoors. People and pets should remain out of treated areas until the application has dried and settled.

Why Professionals Trust Premise® 2

Premise 2 has been used in the pest control industry for decades because it delivers:

Mixing Instructions: SHAKE WELL.

Fill tank 1/4 to 1/3 full. If using a large sprayer, start pump to begin bypass agitation and place end of treating tool in tank to allow circulation through hose.  Add appropriate amount of  Premise 2 Termiticide/Insecticide.  Add remaining amount of water.  Let pump run and allow recirculation through the hose for 2-3 minutes.

0.6                                                  0.10

Application Volume:

Whenever possible, use the application volumes described in the “Directions For Use” on the label.  However, where soil conditions will not accept application of 4 gallons of Premise 2 Insecticide per 10 linear feet, twice the Premise 2 Insecticide concentration may be applied in 2 gallons of solution pre 10 linear feet.

Premise Pre-Construction is a non-repellent termiticide that offers high performance, affordability and excellent value. This product cannot be detected by termites – instead, they come directly in contact with the active ingredient, imidacloprid. And unlike some other termiticides, it won’t harm plumbing.

If you want more than a surface spray—and you want protection that lasts—Premise 2 is the right tool.

Q How soon can Premise 2 be reapplied if needed? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:16 AM
A Reapplication timing depends on the type of treatment performed. Preventative soil treatments typically do not require frequent reapplication, while spot treatments may be reapplied as directed on the label if activity persists.
  2. Does Premise 2 kill termite eggs?

Q Does Premise 2 kill termite eggs? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:16 AM
A Premise 2 does not target eggs directly. Instead, it eliminates worker termites, which stops feeding, grooming, and colony maintenance. Without workers, eggs and larvae cannot survive, leading to colony failure.
  4. Can Premise 2 be used indoors?

Q Can Premise 2 be used indoors? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:15 AM
A Premise 2 is primarily designed for outdoor soil and structural applications, but it can be used indoors in limited areas such as wall voids when permitted by the label. Always follow label directions for indoor use.
  6. How is Premise 2 different from Termidor or Taurus?

Q How is Premise 2 different from Termidor or Taurus? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:13 AM
A Premise 2 uses imidacloprid, while Termidor and Taurus use fipronil. Premise 2 acts systemically and is absorbed through contact and feeding, while fipronil products rely more heavily on direct transfer. Premise is often preferred for soil absorption and long-term prevention, while fipronil products are known for aggressive colony collapse.
  8. Is Premise 2 safe to use around homes?

Q Is Premise 2 safe to use around homes? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:13 AM
A When applied according to the label, Premise 2 is safe for residential use. It should only be applied to labeled areas such as soil, foundations, and structural zones. People and pets should avoid treated areas until the application has dried and settled.
  10. Can Premise 2 be used for termite prevention?

Q Can Premise 2 be used for termite prevention? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:12 AM
A Yes. Premise 2 is commonly used as a preventative soil treatment during pre-construction and post-construction applications. When applied as a continuous treated barrier, it helps stop termites before they can access a structure.
  12. Why am I still seeing termites after using Premise 2?

Q Why am I still seeing termites after using Premise 2? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 6:11 AM
A Seeing some termite activity after treatment is normal. Because Premise 2 works through transfer and delayed mortality, termites may remain active for several days as the product spreads through the colony. Activity typically decreases significantly within 3–7 days as colony collapse occurs.
  14. How long does Premise 2 last after application?
