    Asked on August 20, 2025 9:10 PM
A The mix rate for Gentrol® IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) Concentrate is: Standard Application: Mix 1 ounce of Gentrol IGR per gallon of water. This covers approximately 1,500 square feet of surface area. Heavy Infestations / Sensitive Areas (food-handling, commercial kitchens, etc.): Mix at the same 1 ounce per gallon rate but apply more frequently (every 14 days instead of monthly). Application Tips: Apply as a spot, crack-and-crevice, or surface treatment in areas where roaches, bed bugs, drain flies, or stored product pests are active. For fogging/misting applications, follow the label’s dilution chart for the target pest and space volume. Gentrol does not kill pests on contact—it interrupts the life cycle, preventing immature insects from becoming reproductive adults. 👉 Gentrol IGR is powered by hydroprene, an insect growth regulator that provides long-term control by breaking the reproductive cycle of pests like cockroaches, bed bugs, and stored product insects.

Insect Growth Regulator for Long-Term Roach, Flea & Stored Pest Control

Gentrol® IGR Concentrate is a professional insect growth regulator designed to stop pest infestations at the source by interrupting the insect life cycle. Instead of killing insects on contact, Gentrol prevents immature insects from developing into reproducing adults—cutting off infestations before they can rebound.

Used by professionals worldwide, Gentrol IGR is a critical tool for roach control, flea programs, stored product pest management, and resistance prevention.

Why Gentrol® IGR Concentrate Is Essential for Real Pest Control

Sprays alone rarely solve infestations. Killing visible insects without stopping reproduction allows populations to rebound quickly.

Gentrol IGR uses hydroprene, a juvenile hormone analog that prevents immature insects from molting into breeding adults. This means:

  • No egg production
  • No population rebound
  • Long-term control instead of temporary relief

Gentrol doesn’t replace insecticides—it makes them work better and last longer.

Product Features:

  • Juvenile hormone mimic prevents normal development, breaking the insects’ life cycles.
  • Gentrol IGR translocates deep into wall cavities, cracks and crevices.
  • Approved for use in restaurant pest control, and treatments in other food handling establishments.

Size:

  • 1 oz

What Pests Does Gentrol® IGR Control?

Gentrol IGR is labeled for use against a wide range of pests, including:

  • Cockroaches (German, American, Oriental, brown-banded)
  • Fleas
  • Stored product pests (pantry moths, beetles)
  • Cigarette beetles
  • Confused flour beetles
  • Other listed crawling insects

Gentrol is especially effective where reproduction and resistance are major problems.

How Gentrol® IGR Concentrate Works

After application, Gentrol creates a growth-disrupting zone in treated areas:

  1. Immature insects contact treated surfaces
  2. Normal molting and development are disrupted
  3. Deformed or sterile adults emerge
  4. The population collapses over time

Because Gentrol targets growth—not the nervous system—resistance is extremely rare.

How Long Does Gentrol® IGR Take to Work?

Gentrol IGR does not provide instant knockdown, and that’s by design.

  • Visible changes (deformed wings, twisted bodies) may appear within 1–2 weeks
  • Reproductive shutdown occurs over 30–90 days
  • Complete population control develops as existing adults die naturally and no new adults replace them
Gentrol is about permanent control, not short-term kill.

How Long Does Gentrol® IGR Last?

When applied to undisturbed indoor areas, Gentrol IGR can remain effective for up to 4 months, providing extended population suppression long after contact insecticides wear off.

This long residual makes Gentrol ideal for:

  • Apartments
  • Multi-unit housing
  • Commercial kitchens
  • Long-term roach and flea programs

Where to Apply Gentrol® IGR Concentrate

Gentrol is commonly applied to:

  • Cracks and crevices
  • Baseboards
  • Under and behind appliances
  • Wall void access points
  • Storage rooms and pantries
  • Harborage areas

It can be applied alone or tank-mixed with non-repellent insecticides for maximum effectiveness.

Feature Gentrol IGR Standard Insecticide
Stops reproduction ✔ Yes ✖ No
Kills instantly ✖ No ✔ Yes
Prevents rebound ✔ Yes ✖ Often

Is Gentrol® IGR Safe to Use Indoors?

When applied according to the label, Gentrol IGR is safe for residential and commercial indoor use. It has:

  • No odor
  • No staining
  • No repellent effect

People and pets may re-enter treated areas once sprays have dried.

Who Should Use Gentrol® IGR?

Gentrol IGR is ideal for:

  • Persistent roach infestations
  • Flea control programs
  • Multi-unit housing
  • Stored product pest problems
  • DIY users who want professional-level results

If you’re tired of pests coming back, Gentrol is the missing piece.

Mixing Instructions:

Spray Mixing:

Mix Gentrol with diluent and apply with spray or hand application equipment, such as hand-pressurized or power-operated sprayers capable of delivering general surface spray, fogging (space spray/mist), spot, crack and crevice spray applications, or with a paint brush, roller, or similar device.

Use 1 ounce of Gentrol to 1 gallon of diluent. Partially fill the mixing container with diluent, add the Gentrol, shake or stir, and fill to final volume. Use diluted solution within 48 hours of mixing. Shake or stir before each use.

Tank Mixes:

Gentrol may be tank mixed with an adulticide currently registered for use, unless the product label prohibits such use. Use the resulting tank mixture in accordance with the more restrictive label limitations and precautions.

Application Rates:

Apply the Gentrol dilution at a rate of 1 gallon per 1500 sq ft of surface area. Use spray/application equipment capable of delivering a variable spray or coating to uniformly apply the solution. Apply to areas such as walls, floors, ceilings, attics, basements, or crawlspaces. NOTE: Prior to treating around air ducts, shut off ventilation system. Allow treatment to dry prior to turning on ventilation system.

Storage:

Store in a cool area away from children.

What is the correct mix rate for Gentrol IGR Concentrate?

Q What is the correct mix rate for Gentrol IGR Concentrate? answer now
    Asked on August 20, 2025 9:10 PM

Alpine WSG mixed with mixed with Gentrol is how we attack German Roach infestations. Baits like Advion Gel Bait work extremely well in conjunction or as a stand alone. If using bait, always bait first before spraying a non-repellant.
