Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?

Have you ever had someone unexpectedly drop in at dinner time? As parents this was a frequent occurrence in our home. Sometimes it would be friends but sometimes it would be the dreaded boyfriend. This was a great time for us to do some serious grilling of that young gentleman. We would ask all the serious questions as well as the uncomfortable ones. If you had the chance to sit down to dinner with a spider and have a convo, what would you ask? Well, good thing that we are here to answer some of those questions.

Why are you here?

Spiders want to be comfortable too. Your home provides warmth or coolness, food and water, the same things you desire. But unlike you they are not to picky who comes to dinner in their home or “web”. Spiders love a good meat meal just like most of us do, but they eat about 5 to 6 insect burgers a day which adds up to about 2000 insect burgers a year! For us that would be a definite trip to the cardiologist.

Spiders are the ultimate squatters inside your home. Securing the perfect web placement ensures they will attract those insects that later become their perfect dinner. Well lit areas such as window seals and even dirty grills are often ideal attracting unsuspecting insect travelers. Ok, enough about these hairy eight legged, eight eyed squatters, the bottom line is there is only room for one King or Queen in your castle, so if you are the Ruler, Knight, Steward, Huntsman and Constable, the job of eviction falls on you and you alone.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Getting rid of spiders means understanding IPM. Integrated Pest Management or IPM is the process of combining biological, cultural, physical and chemical tools to identify, manage and reduce risk from pests and pest management tools and strategies in a way that minimizes overall economic, health and environmental risks. Wow, that was a mouth full! How about I just tell you what weapon works best. Lets quiz your castle fighting knowledge, ok? Here we go.

How would you rid your castle of spiders?

A. Sword

B. Axe

C. Crossbow (come on, we all know that a crossbow is only used on your mother-in-law) I kid, I kid.

D. Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion concentrate.

Good job! The answer is D

Talk about a powerful punch, Onslaught FastCap is a microencapsulated weapon of terror. What does this mean? Well here’s the unscientific explanation. Microencapsulation is like storing your pesticide in small grenades and when the spider walks through your mine field (the areas you have treated) they pick up these grenades on their bodies and when grooming themselves the grenade explodes the pesticide all over them. What does this mean? It means….

🎵The itsy bitsy spider won’t go up the water spout, you wont need the rain to wash the spider out.

When the sun comes out and dries up all the rain, the spiders will be gone and so will all your pains. 🎵

Thank you, thank you! Coming soon to Pandora and Itunes.

Here’s my final thoughts, spiders look for the same things you look for in a home… food, shelter and warmth, so unless your willing to Airbnb a room to them, take proactive measures to make sure they don’t show up for dinner.
