How long does Vendetta Plus Roach Gel take to work?

Q How long does Vendetta Plus Roach Gel take to work? answer now
    Asked on December 16, 2025 9:23 PM
A Vendetta Plus begins working within hours after cockroaches consume the bait. Most users notice a visible reduction in roach activity within 24–48 hours, especially in kitchens, bathrooms, and other heavy harborage areas. Significant population decline typically occurs within 3–7 days, while complete control of larger or long-established infestations may take 7–10 days, depending on sanitation, infestation size, and bait placement. Vendetta Plus contains abamectin, a slow-acting, non-repellent active ingredient, combined with an insect growth regulator (IGR). This dual-action formula allows roaches to return to their hiding places and spread the bait through contact, grooming, and droppings before dying. The IGR continues working after the initial kill by preventing surviving nymphs from developing into reproductive adults, helping stop the infestation from rebounding. For best results, apply small bait placements near cracks, crevices, appliances, plumbing penetrations, and wall voids, and avoid using repellent insecticides nearby, as they can reduce bait acceptance and slow results.

Q Where are you most likely to find German cockroach nests inside your home? answer now

    A

When looking for German cockroach nests, you will want to look in warm, dark, and moist areas. German cockroaches are nocturnal, meaning they are active at night, and they are also sensitive to light. You will want to look under sinks where pipes lead in from the walls, in cabinets and behind and under refrigerators and dishwashes. These are places that are perfect to treat with pesticides or place cockroach baits.

    Asked on February 26, 2025 9:37 AM
A Depending on how long ago the Ortho treatment was performed. If it was 6-9 months ago you should be fine, but if it was recent, then the Ortho pesticide could repel the roaches, so you would want to clean the surrounding area where you are placing the Vendetta cockroach bait.

Application Rates:

For light infestations of German Cockroaches, 4-6 bait points are recommended per 100 sq. ft. of treatment area. For heavy infestations of German Cockroaches, 12-24 bait points are recommended per 100 sq. ft. of treatment areas.  Each bait point should equal about 0.25 to 0.50 grams of product.  A spot approximately 3 mm or 1/8 inch in diameter equals 0.25 grams of product, while a spot approximately 6 mm or 1/4 inch in diameter equals 0.50 grams of product.

Use Directions:
  1. Remove the cap from the nozzle, touch the top to the surface to be treated and push down the plunger.  Apply bait as spots in cracks and crevices.  Recap the dispenser after treatment is completed.
  2. Store in a cool, dry place.
  3. Do not apply gel to areas that have been recently sprayed with insecticide, and do not spray insecticide over gel, as this may cause the bait to become repellant.
  4. Replace bait before it is completely consumed to keep German Cockroaches from returning.
