How long does Cyzmic CS take to work?

Q How long does Cyzmic CS take to work? answer now
    Asked on December 18, 2025 2:12 PM
A Cyzmic CS begins working within hours after insects contact treated surfaces. Most users notice a reduction in pest activity within 24–48 hours, especially for ants, spiders, cockroaches, and other crawling insects. Continued control typically develops over 3–7 days as insects repeatedly cross treated areas. Cyzmic CS uses a controlled-release microencapsulated formulation, which allows the active ingredient to adhere to insect bodies and release gradually. This results in effective knockdown combined with extended residual control, rather than an instant flush-out. Because insects are not repelled, they continue moving through treated zones, increasing exposure and improving overall control. For best results, apply Cyzmic CS to cracks, crevices, baseboards, entry points, and exterior perimeter surfaces, and allow treated areas to dry completely so the residual can remain active.

Q What is the correct mix rate for Cyzmic CS Insecticide? answer now
    Asked on August 20, 2025 9:17 PM
A The mix rate for Cyzmic® CS varies depending on the pest pressure and target area: Standard Applications (ants, cockroaches, crickets, spiders, flies, mosquitoes, etc.): Mix 0.2 to 1 ounce of Cyzmic CS per gallon of water. One gallon covers approximately 1,000 square feet of treated surface. Heavy Infestations / Tough Pests (ticks, fleas, scorpions, severe roach activity): Use the higher rate of 1 ounce per gallon of water for maximum control. Perimeter Treatments: Apply 0.4 to 0.8 ounces per gallon of water as a 3-foot band up the foundation and 3–10 feet out into the soil. Application Tips: Apply with a hand pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or power sprayer. Shake the mixture well before spraying to ensure even distribution. Indoors, apply only as a spot or crack-and-crevice treatment. Do not broadcast spray in living areas. 👉 Cyzmic CS uses microencapsulated lambda-cyhalothrin technology, which provides long-lasting residual control and reduces odor compared to traditional formulations.

Professional Residual Pest Control with Controlled-Release Technology

Cyzmic® CS is a professional-grade controlled-release insecticide designed to deliver fast knockdown and long-lasting residual control for a wide range of crawling and flying insects. Built for both professionals and serious DIY users, Cyzmic CS combines advanced microencapsulation technology with a powerful active ingredient to provide consistent, dependable results indoors and outdoors.

If you’re looking for an insecticide that keeps working long after application—without repellency—Cyzmic CS is a proven solution.

What Pests Does Cyzmic® CS Control?

Cyzmic CS is labeled for control of many common structural and perimeter pests, including:

  • Ants
  • Cockroaches
  • Spiders
  • Fleas
  • Ticks
  • Mosquitoes
  • Crickets
  • Earwigs
  • Silverfish
  • Other crawling and flying insects

This broad control makes Cyzmic CS ideal for general pest control programs, not just single-pest treatments.

How Cyzmic® CS Works

Cyzmic CS contains a microencapsulated pyrethroid active ingredient suspended in water. After application:

  1. Microcapsules adhere to treated surfaces
  2. Insects pick up capsules as they crawl or land
  3. Capsules break down on contact, releasing the active ingredient
  4. Insects receive a lethal dose over time

Because Cyzmic CS is non-repellent, pests do not detect or avoid treated areas. This results in higher exposure and better overall control compared to repellent sprays.

How Long Does Cyzmic® CS Take to Work?

Cyzmic CS begins working within hours after insects contact treated surfaces. Most users notice a reduction in pest activity within 24–48 hours, with full control typically achieved in 3–7 days, depending on infestation severity and coverage.

Unlike fast-burn products that stop working quickly, Cyzmic CS continues killing insects for up to 90 days in undisturbed areas, thanks to its controlled-release formulation.

How Long Does Cyzmic® CS Last?

In typical conditions:

  • Indoors: up to 90 days
  • Outdoors: several weeks, depending on weather and exposure

The controlled-release capsules protect the active ingredient from rapid breakdown, making Cyzmic CS a strong choice for long-term perimeter defense.

Where to Apply Cyzmic® CS

Cyzmic CS is commonly used in:

  • Cracks and crevices
  • Baseboards
  • Wall voids
  • Entry points
  • Exterior foundation perimeters
  • Eaves and soffits
  • Landscaping and structural edges

This flexibility allows for full-structure pest protection with one product.

Cyzmic® CS vs Other Controlled-Release Insecticides

Compared to standard suspension concentrates, Cyzmic CS offers:

  • Longer residual life
  • More consistent insect exposure
  • Better performance in undisturbed areas

Compared to repellent pyrethroids:

  • No insect avoidance
  • Better long-term population suppression
  • More effective perimeter control
  • Cyzmic CS is often chosen when residual longevity matters more than instant flush-out.

Is Cyzmic® CS Safe to Use Around Homes?

When applied according to the label, Cyzmic CS is safe for residential use. It should be applied to labeled areas only, and people and pets should avoid treated surfaces until dry. Once dry, treated areas can be reoccupied normally.

Who Should Use Cyzmic® CS?

Cyzmic CS is ideal for:

  • Homeowners wanting professional-grade results
  • DIYers maintaining a long-term pest control barrier
  • Perimeter pest control programs
  • Multi-pest infestations requiring residual protection

If you want fewer applications and longer control, Cyzmic CS is a smart choice.

Mixing Instructions:

Dilute Cyzmic CS with water for application using hand-held or power-operated application equipment as a coarse spray for crack and crevice or spot and general surface (nonfood/ nonfeed areas only) treatments. Application equipment that delivers low volume treatments, such as the Micro-Injector®or Actisol® applicator, may also be used to make crack and crevice or spot and general surface treatments. Fill applicator tank with the desired volume of water and add Cyzmic CS. Close and shake before use in order to ensure proper mixing. Shake or re-agitate applicator tank before use if application is interrupted. Mix only amount of treatment volume as required. Cyzmic CS may be applied by using a paintbrush or other porous applicator attached to a handle as a general surface treatment.

Tank Mixing:
Cyzmic CS may be tank mixed with other currently registered pesticides unless expressly prohibited by the product label. A small volume mixing test with the other products is recommended to ensure compatibility. If other chemicals are added to the applicator tank, add Cyzmic CS last. If mixed with EC formulations, use within 24 hours. Fill tank to desired volume and continue to agitate while making applications.

Cyzmic CS may be tank mixed with an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). Follow all restrictions and precautions which appear on the labels of these products.

Foam Applications:
Cyzmic CS may be converted to a foam and the foam used to treat structural voids to control or prevent pests including ants, bees, termites (above ground only), wasps, or other listed
arthropods harboring in walls, under slabs, or in other void areas.

Mixture Rate:

For most applications: 0.2 fluid oz (6 mL) to 0.4 fluid oz. (12 mL) per gallon of water.  See label for specific use rates.
