How EcoPCO AR-X Works
EcoPCO AR-X combines 2-Phenethyl Propionate with natural pyrethrins to provide professional insect control. Pyrethrins are botanical insecticides derived from chrysanthemum flowers. They affect an insect’s nervous system by disrupting normal sodium-channel function, producing rapid knockdown and kill. The aerosol formulation allows the insecticide to penetrate the cracks, crevices and voids where insects hide, making it particularly useful when pests are concealed behind baseboards, around cabinets, inside structural gaps or around plumbing and appliances.Unlike EcoPCO ACU, which Zoëcon markets as a no-residual contact aerosol, EcoPCO AR-X provides residual activity in addition to contact control.
How to Use EcoPCO AR-X
1. Inspect for Pest Activity
Identify the pest and locate the areas where insects are hiding, nesting, traveling or entering the structure.
2. Shake the Can
Shake EcoPCO AR-X thoroughly before application according to the label directions.
3. Target Cracks & Crevices
Apply the aerosol directly into labeled pest harborages rather than indiscriminately spraying open surfaces.
Zoëcon identifies treatment areas that include:
- Behind baseboards
- Around cabinets
- Walls and ceilings
- Door frames
- Window frames
- Around water pipes
- Around appliances
- Cracks and crevices
- Structural voids
4. Contact the Pest When Possible
Zoëcon’s application literature instructs users to ensure contact with as many target insects as possible.
5. Follow Label Restrictions
Always follow the current EcoPCO AR-X label for the target pest, treatment site, application method, reapplication directions and precautions.
EcoPCO AR-X for Cockroaches
EcoPCO AR-X is an excellent choice for targeted cockroach treatments because its aerosol formulation allows treatment directly into cockroach harborages.
Apply according to label directions around appropriate areas such as:
- Cracks and crevices
- Behind baseboards
- Cabinets
- Around appliances
- Plumbing penetrations
- Wall and structural voids
- Door and window frames
- Other cockroach hiding areas
For severe German cockroach infestations, EcoPCO AR-X can be incorporated into a comprehensive Integrated Pest Management program that includes sanitation, monitoring, gel baits and other appropriate control products.
EcoPCO AR-X for Ants
EcoPCO AR-X controls ants, including carpenter ants, and can be applied into labeled cracks, crevices and voids where ants are hiding or traveling.
Focus treatments around ant entry points, structural gaps, window and door frames, plumbing penetrations and other areas of known activity.
When using ant baits as part of the same control program, avoid spraying insecticide directly on or immediately around the bait placements.
EcoPCO AR-X for Carpenter Bees
Carpenter bees are specifically listed on the EcoPCO AR-X label.
Applications can be directed according to the label into carpenter bee galleries and other permitted areas of activity. Properly treating active galleries and addressing nesting sites can help control carpenter bees and reduce continued structural damage.
EcoPCO AR-X for Spiders & Scorpions
EcoPCO AR-X is labeled for both spiders and scorpions, making it a useful targeted aerosol for pests hiding in cracks, crevices and protected areas.
Apply according to label directions to appropriate harborages and areas where these pests are likely to hide or travel.
Controlling other insects around the structure can also help reduce the food sources attracting spiders and scorpions.
EcoPCO AR-X for Termites
EcoPCO AR-X is labeled for termites, including applications described in Zoëcon literature for drywood termites.
This does not mean EcoPCO AR-X should be considered a substitute for a complete structural termite treatment when one is required. Use it only for termite applications specifically permitted by the product label.
EcoPCO AR-X vs. EcoPCO ACU
Although both products are Zoëcon EcoPCO aerosols, they serve somewhat different purposes.
EcoPCO AR-X contains 1.0% 2-Phenethyl Propionate + 0.4% Pyrethrins and provides both contact and residual activity. It’s particularly useful when you want a botanical aerosol with residual performance.
EcoPCO ACU contains 0.1% 2-Phenethyl Propionate and is primarily a no-residual contact and flushing aerosol. It is particularly useful for quickly killing or flushing insects from concealed harborages.
A simple way to explain the difference:
EcoPCO ACU = Contact + Flushing
EcoPCO AR-X = Contact + Residual
