Yes, all Birchmeier sprayers come with what they call a wand caddy, the wand snaps into place at the back of the backpack into the built in caddy.

Should I buy the 2.5 or 4 gallon Birchmeier sprayer?

Which Birchmeier backpack sprayer to buy will come down to how much area you need to cover and how often you spray. For example, let's say you are just doing the occasional perimeter spray around your home, if that's the case then the 2.5-gallon Birchmeier sprayer would be fine. But if you are doing the perimeter of a home and the landscape areas or possibly doing multiple areas or homes or maybe large properties, well then, the 4-gallon sprayer is a better choice due to the fact that you would have to fill up and mix less.

Can the pump handle be switched to either side?

Yes, one of the great options that the Birchmeier sprayers come with is the option of putting the pump handle on the left or right-hand side, making it great for left or right-handed users.
